INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Conner Prairie’s Headless Horseman Festival returns Thursday, bringing 16 nights of fall fun to the Fishers living history museum. The festival runs Thursdays through Sundays from Oct. 1-25.
“It is one of our most popular festivals,” said Hyacinth Rucker, senior manager of public relations and communications at Conner Prairie.
The festival transforms the museum grounds into a fall carnival with activities and attractions for a variety of ages and scare levels. Gates are open from 5-10 p.m. on festival nights. Regular daytime operations end at 4 p.m.
Visitors can take the festival’s signature haunted hayride through the woods, where they’ll encounter the Headless Horseman. The $10 hayride is available to members and nonmembers.
“Whether you’re little, teens, parents, grandparents, everybody can go and have a great time,” Rucker said.
Other festival attractions include:
The festival offers options for visitors looking for either family-friendly fun or a more intense Halloween experience.
“If you’re the person that doesn’t really want to be scared then you’re still going to have a lot to do,” Rucker said. “It’s a festival that offers something for everyone.”
Daytime activities are geared toward families with younger children, while the evening hours offer a more spooky atmosphere.
The event has limited capacity, and members must reserve tickets in advance.
Festival admission is free for members, $26 for nonmembers and $10 for Access Pass holders. The Haunted Hayride costs $10 for all guests.
